The importance of your tablet’s screen quality can’t be understated, so the screen needs to POP!
Of course, there’s more to the screen quality of a tablet than meets the eye — proverbially speaking. In addition to high resolutions and pixels per inch (ppi), there are other components that contribute to the overall quality of a screen. Black levels and brightness, as well as colour range and accuracy, are all important factors to consider.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is one of the most beautiful tablets I’ve ever used and it makes my Netflix binges and Super Mario Run matches even more visually immersive. Over the past few weeks on the blog I’ve really focused on the gaming aspects of the Galaxy Tab S3 but that’s not all I have been using it for, I’ve also been spending a lot of time binge watching some incredible shows and movies!
With the sun popping out from behind the clouds, and the temperatures slowly rising I’ve been trying to tan my pasty vampire skin. As my mom always says, “Chicks like a guy who’s honey bronzed and desirable Brock.” Sure, I could bring a book to the park, but I can’t tear myself away from all the new content on Netflix. So of course, my tablet comes with me. Tablet outside howbow dah!
Over the past few weeks I’ve finally started watching and blew through iZombie, Hannibal, and the first season of Master of None. My golden rule is to watch a show for three episodes and if it doesn’t catch your interest, it’s time to move on – there’s just so much other great content out there.
The Galaxy Tab S3 battery lasts a surprisingly long time when watching media. I was consistently getting about 12 hours of video playback with the screen brightness around 75%. Instead of streaming, I found downloading the videos to my device first helped keep the tablet running longer. It also has a wonderful standby time, so if you put the tablet down for a few days without charging you shouldn’t see the battery waver too much. Not to mention, once you start watching videos on an AMOLED HDR screen it’s really hard to go back to anything else. I was recording some game footage off an old TV of mine last night and decided to switch it over to Netflix and the quality was pale in comparison. HDR is the future.
Of course if you do find yourself heading to the park or patio in a hurry and need some entertainment the USB-C adaptive fast charger in the box will bring the battery from dead to 100% in about 2 hours. That’s pretty damn impressive! By the time I hop in the shower and do my daily hair routine the Galaxy Tab S3 is charged and ready to go.
Samsung has truly pushed the limits of a tablet and the more I use it the more impressed I am. From gaming, to video watching to using the S Pen to doodle, this tablet has it all. I would definitely recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to anyone looking for a new tablet to keep up with all their media and entertainment needs!
