I love my Moto Z Play. As just a phone it’s your standard reliable high-end Android device but the Moto Mods make it a game changer. I am constantly using the projector to project movies onto my ceiling to fall asleep to and the speaker comes in handy for days in the park. Even with heavy use over the past year, the battery life is still phenomenal when compared to my iPhone 6S. The iPhone battery can barely hold a 3-hour charge at this point. I’m still rocking the Moto Z Play and now Motorola has gone and announced the Moto Z2 Play with some new Moto Mods including a GamePad.
A FREAKING SWEET GAMEPAD.
LOOK AT IT!
Now from behind.
You know what that looks like?! A Nintendo Switch. HOT DAMN! Downloading Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic right now because I’m taking this thing on the road.
This Moto Mod allows you to transform your Moto Z into a handheld gaming console with a simple snap. It’s got dual control sticks, a D-pad and four actions buttons for a true gaming experience wherever you are. It’s also got a built-in 1035mAh built-in battery. OH SHIT!
Can you tell I’m excited?
Other new Moto Mods include a JBL SoundBoost 2, which gives you 10 hours of sweet sounds on the built-in battery, a TurboPower pack to give you some extra juice and a Moto Style Shell for Wireless Charging. The Style Shells also come in different prints and colors. The floral one will look extra hot with my collection of 70’s Dad floral shirts this summer. Seriously, why was wireless charging abandoned a few years ago? It’s the bee’s knees. I’m glad to see Moto bringing it back.
The new Moto Mods will be available globally this summer, with Moto TurboPower Pack starting at $79.99 USD, Moto Style Shell with Wireless Charging at $39.99 USD, JBL SoundBoost 2 at $79.99 USD and Moto GamePad at $79.99 USD.

I’m going go fantasize about all the games I’m going play with that sweet sweet sweet GamePad. And here’s a look at the new phone. Look at that slick coloring. I’m so sick of the standard black! It’s summer. Let’s have some fun!
