Microsoft Rolls Out Digital Game Gifting on Xbox One

Xbox fan rejoice! Microsoft is making it easier to give digital game and subscriptions as gifts this holiday season! This is a long-requested feature and it’s nice to know Microsoft is listening to feedback.

The company has started to roll out gifting from the Microsoft store via the console or on a computer after conducting a test period. This feature will let players purchase games, downloadable content, and subscriptions, for a friend.

Microsoft’s Larry “Major Hyrb” Nelson shows how:

The feature is still in early infancy and does have a few restrictions. Only “select” games and DLC can be purchased at this time. And for us, Canadian’s we are currently shit out of luck as gifts can only be redeemed in the United States of A.

It’s a nice feature and will come in really handy down the line. Steam’s had gifting options available for years and Nintendo had a similar feature back on the Wii. Maybe someday Sony will join the party.

Happy gaming my friends.
