The official trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is now online and it looks extremely promising. The original Marvel Super Heroes came out way back in 2013 and remains one of my favorite LEGO games on the market.
The sequel really uses the success of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 to its advantage showcasing Rocket and fan favorite Baby Groot right off the bat. Every time I see Baby Groot my heart melts a little and a single tear roll down my face. The full line-up of characters new and old is quite impressive and I’m curious to see what surprises are in store. Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Gamora, and Drax, as well as Doctor Strange, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, Kang the Conqueror are all confirmed.
I can’t believe we’re getting a Marvel game with Kang the Conqueror as the big bad. I’d love to see him make an appearance on the big screen if FOX signs over the rights to the Marvel Universe. Honestly, at this point it wouldn’t be that surprising with no new Fantastic Four movie on the horizon and Kang wouldn’t make much sense in a Xmen story.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 was co-written by comic book veteran Kurt Busiek, and will transport players into a cosmic battle across a myriad of Marvel Locations from across the galaxy. Players will also be able to explore an open world hub called Chronopolis. In the original game the hub was a small scale New York.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will be available starting November 14, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will be released for Nintendo Switch this holiday.
