I’m kicking myself for not being able to attend PlayStation Experience this weekend. Sure, there will be plenty of games on the floor, butI might be most excited for Super Mega Baseball 2.
The original Super Mega Baseball was a surprise hit. I downloaded it free on a whim a few months ago during a Games with Gold promotion thinking I’d play a few matches and then uninstall it. But, once I started playing, I couldn’t stop. It’s bloody good fun. It pairs nicely with some of your buddies and some cold brewskis. Don’t let the cartoon graphics fool you, the game is surprisingly deep and reminds me a lot of the Hitz series mixed with Backyard Baseball.

Details about Super Mega Baseball 2 were revealed in a blog post earlier this week as well as this very quick trailer.
As you can see from the video the world looks much more detailed and realistic with a more modern interface. What I’m most excited for is the in-depth customization. You will be able to edit team names, logos, and uniforms where you’ll be able to compete in custom leagues. On top of that, you’ll be able to customize player skill values, gear, and animations, such as batting stances.
Also confirmed is the addition of online play, which hopefully won’t lose the magic of playing with friends in the same room.
No release date has been set, but hopefully, we will see the game in mid-2017. Fingers crossed.
