The sequel to one of the best fighting games around is now available on your mobile devices for free!
Injustice 2 is available on the App Store for iPad and iPhone and on the Google Play store for Android devices. The game was developed by NetherRealm Studios and pits iconic DC Super Heroes and Super-Villians in head-to-head 3-on-3 fighting action. What’s most impressive about this mobile game is just how damn good it looks and the amount of content included. My first experience with Injustice was on mobile funny enough and I adored it.
“With Injustice 2, the team has worked extremely hard to build upon an already successful mobile game to bring a fresh fighting game experience to mobile devices,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “We are excited to have fans experience a few of our favourite new features including upgraded special moves, improved combat and Story Mode, which will be released chapter by chapter.”
I played an hour or so of the game this morning on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and have found the combat system has been tweaked and tuned and it handles very well on a tablet screen. There’s also some great story moments and an insane amount of customizable options. This port was designed for mobile in mind and handles much differently than the console version I played on Wednesday evening. One of the biggest changes is the ability to move more freely around the stage and you are now able to jump and use crouch attacks.
This is the perfect way to tide you over until Injustice 2 drops next week on May 16th. Our review will be up later in the week as I know Josh will want to spend a lot of time with the game before giving his thoughts. We also plan to stream the game on beam on the 16th at 9 PM, if you want to watch here’s the link – http://beam.pro/brockstar.
The mobile version of the game will also tie in the console versions as players can complete daily objectives for special in-game rewards across both platforms. Neat!
Because this is a free mobile game, there are plenty of microtransactions ranging in price from $3 all the way up to $100 bucks. They aren’t really necessary and players to want to save their money will have plenty of content to choose from.
If you took my advice last week and pre-ordered the mobile game you’ll have exclusive access to everyone’s favorite thief, Catwoman.
Injustice 2 for mobile is available as a free download on the App Store for iPad and iPad; and on Google Play for Android devices Injustice 2on consoles will be available for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One on May 16, 2017.
