Retail leaks be damned, Warner Bro’s officially announced Injustice 2 today and DC fans are losing their mind.
Slated for release in 2017 on both Xbox One and PS4 very little is known about the next game in the series but it does pick up where the first game left off. Batman and his trusty super friends are trying to rebuild society in the wake of Superman’s madness, while others attempt to rebuild the Man of Steel’s regime.
“In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios via official announcement. “We’re always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customize and level-up their favorite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap.”
Ed Boon also took to Twitter yesterday for some incredible clapbacks.
Well played sir.
You can see from the trailer some returning characters and the announcement mentions at least two new characters reporting for duty, Red Lantern leader Atrocitus and Flash’s monkey nemesis, Gorilla Grodd.
No word yet if any of the characters will bring up their mothers.
