Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels Expansion FREAKING RULES

Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels 2016 Xenvo ST1 Solo

Whosever idea it was to mash Hot Wheels, Forza Horizon 3, and Dinosaurs together deserves a raise because this is a real fun game.  Like a really really fun game.

Last night on beam with a couple of good pals from all across Canada I sat down and played Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels for a good six hours. We streamed from 9 PM – 12:30 AM and once everyone had gone to bed I continued racing. I couldn’t stop playing.

I raved about Forza Horizon 3 back in the fall of last year calling it one of the best racing games ever. You can read my full review here – CLICK ME. Forza Horizon 3 is a must have game for the Xbox One. It should just come bundled with every system because it’s that damn good. I don’t typically like racing games but Forza has me hooked. Hooked on a racing game. Ooga-chaka Ooga-Ooga.

The Hot Wheels expansion released yesterday for the low price of $19.99 opens up an entire new area in the game full of orange ramps, dinosaurs, jumps, pirate ship wreckage and so much more. The game looks better than ever, the polish and presentation is truly top-notch. The most remarkable thing about this expansion is everything feels so fresh and brave. This expansion seems to have been made with love.

Watching day turn to night as your ripping around a mountain with fireworks in the distant is a sight to behold. Not many games have made me say, “WHOA!” so many times.

The game isn’t perfect, it does need a few fixes but it’s damn near close. I hope the developers Playground Games fix a few things including quick travel and I noticed when I would fall off the track instead of being reset I would drive aimlessly around with no hope of getting back on the track. These are minor annoyances for what is otherwise a brilliant expansion that is worth every penny.

Included in the expansion are ten new iconic Hot Wheel vehicles as well as new races and events. You can also create your own Hot Wheels event, and customize them by swapping out different pieces of stunt tracks. I’m going work on a track and I hope the guys from last night come back and play it.

I still have lots left to do and I plan on getting every achievement for this game. If Diamonds are your thing I got a fair share of them last night. Get em’ while they’re hot!

I want more. I want so much more. I want a full on new Hot Wheels game. Or a Microsoft Kart Racer. A new Diddy Kong Racer from Rare featuring Master Chief. Call it Conker’s Bad Kart Day. I don’t care. Hell I’ll take a Wacky Races Expansion Pack. I’ve now got a taste for over the top arcade racing and I want more. This feels like a mix of Blur and Burnout Paradise and it’s amazing.

This is a wonderful day for the Forza franchise. Bravo.
