Seldom do movies come out that I feel the need to see more than once in theaters but Sony’s Sausage Party brought me back three times. I was there for the premiere, then I went Friday on opening night, and finally I took my mom when I was visiting in Vancouver. My mom, by the way, loved the movie and no the food orgy wasn’t totally uncomfortable. We saw Wolf of Wall St together, nothing will top that. Knock on wood.
Sausage Party is an R-rated, CG-animated movie, featuring one sausage who leads a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store. The film features the vocal talents of some of today’s best comedy stars – Seth Rogen (Fun Fact, my mom and him would have graduated from the same high school, but she got kicked out for reasons unknown. My mom was apparently a bad ass) Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton and Salma Hayek.
The Blu-Ray exclusives contain a Good Food Gag Reel, Shock and Awe: How Did The Get Made?, a Line-O-Rama, deleted scenes, the original pitch and much more. These exclusives are awesome. Seeing the original ending that premiered at SXSW earlier this year is hilarious. Rumour has it that’s where the sequel is going.
